"𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒅𝒂𝒚."
I am the type of person who usually gets too caught up in a negative type of mindset. *I plead guilty*
These are some of the phrases that I would usually say:
☁ Why is this happening to ME??
☁ What a shitty day!!
☁ This sucks!!!
☁ Can this get any worse??!
What I didn't realize until recently is that while I spent 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 & 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 focusing on this type of mindset I was creating a shitty life.
So what I've learned is, in order to live a happy life & in order to work on my mental health I have to switch off my negative mindset & focus on the good things that happen to me throughout a day.
Of course we are all going to have shitty days but what's important is how we deal with shitty days.
We can either choose to pity us & have that shitty day that we 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆 ourselves we are having.
We can accept in that moment, that this very moment isn't how we have pictured it but at the end of the day it was still a good day 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 that have happend to us throughout that day.♥
I have been working on this for a while & what I usually do is I ask myself whether this will still bother me five years from now. If it won't, then I learned to let go of it.
A new method I recently learned is to take a moment at the end of the day to 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏 all the good things that have happened to me that day. So that when I have a shitty day or when I feel like my mental health is shifting into the wrong direction I can just take out my notebook & remind myself of the good.
What do you usually do on a shitty day? - Chantal
