Throwback to October 2018 when we had a belated summer day. This photoshoot was the starting point for all the photoshoots that followed after this. Kerstin from Created by Kerstin Schauer (unpaid ad) asked me whether I could just take a few photos of her. The photos that we took were for a collaboration she had with Burda Style Germany (unpaid ad). FIY: Burda Style is a sewing magazine that was founded in 1949. And apparently Burda Style Germany reached out to Kerstin who is a self-taught sewing blogger from Osnabrück, Germany asking her if she wanted to sew the paper bag pants (that she is wearing in the photos).
Kerstin had many photoshoots with other photographers in the past, so I was a little intimidated by her idea of me taking photos of her and especially for her blog knowing it was a collaboration she needed the photos for! I was even more so intimidated because it had literally been years since I last had a camera in my hands and I have never really focused on shooting portraits/people in general before. I was more of a macro and landscapes type of photographer haha.
So once I saw the outcome of the photos I was not just impressed but also very happy with myself. I know that there’s a lot more potential but for the first time in a long time? I think that the results are great!
Love note: I just wanted to thank Kerstin at this point for asking me if I wanted to take pictures of her. Because thanks to her I found my long lost passion again and I love that I can be more and more created each time! It is truly something that I enjoy doing!
